Perfect Making of Bellam kommulu
Combine the rice or wheat flour with ghee and a little bit of salt. Add water or milk slowly until the dough is firm but can still be shaped easily. Allow it to sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Form small pieces of the dough into tiny shapes like balls grains, or small discs by rolling them.
Cook and coat your food better by using smaller and more even shapes. Warm up some oil in a large frying pan. Cook the formed komulu in small amounts of oil until they become golden brown and crispy. Make sure the oil is heated to a medium temperature so that the food cooks evenly and doesn’t get burnt. In another pot, melt jaggery with a little bit of water.
Cook the mixture until the syrup becomes slightly sticky (soft-ball stage). Mix in some cardamom powder to make the taste even better. Mix the fried sweet balls with the jaggery syrup and stir quickly to make sure they are all covered evenly. Let the cookies cool on a greased tray so the chocolate can harden.
